As Horatio Caine notes in "Just One Kiss", "The evidence, as always, will speak for itself.". Put another way, CSI: Miami doesn't deviate from the same wildly popular formula as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. CSI Miami makes the most of its surroundings - theres trouble, but at least its sunny.
Horatio Caine (David Caruso), a former homicide detective, heads the group of investigators who work crimes on the Miami beat. His team includes Calleigh Dusquene, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics; Tim Speedle, a cocky yet disarming investigator who is well connected on the street, and Eric Delko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways. Rounding out the team is Alexx Woods, the no-nonsense, know-it-all coroner. And, after Speedle is killed in Action, Former Patrolman Ryan Wolfe joins the team.
Filmed in the United States, the series has been exported to over a dozen countries worldwide. The show averages 20 million viewers an episode making it one of the most watched shows in the USA. In 2006, Reuters reported that the show is "the most-watched U.S. series in the world"
